Bring: Running shoes, and sweatshirt, and a change of shoes, just in case.
Meet your fellow ambassadors and learn how to play some favorite Gaelic Games.
The National Sports of Ireland are called Gaelic Games. Hurling is the oldest sport in the world and we will learn the basics of how to play. It is also traditionally known as the fastest game too. We will also practice Gaelic Football, which is the best combination of all sports - basketball, volleyball, American football, soccer, hacky sacks, etc. The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) is like the NFL of Ireland. Tom Sheehy is the Games Development Administrator for the GAA in the Chicagoland area. He will give us a breakdown of the games and some ways to give it a try.
Wear comfortable clothes to run around in. Gym shoes. Dress for the weather if cold, bring a sweatshirt, etc.
Snacks and drinks will be provided.
